Man of Steel- Movie review by Tanmay Dubey

Starring: - Henry Cavil, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner

Director:- Zack Snyder

What does 'being Super Man' ideologically stand for- “finding a super inside you, pushing to the limits, helping the ones who are in need and  in the process fighting the Evil.’  Zack Snyder’s latest man of steel offers you every things and much more than that!

Planet Krypton in a faraway galaxy is getting ended, as the inhabitants have used the planet’s core. Scientist Zor-El’s (Russell Crowe) wife gives birth to their son Kal-El who is the key to Krypton’s survival (this is revealed later in the film). General Zod (Micheal Shannon) is a non-believer in Zor-El’s ways and after an altercation and a little fighting (Avatar type creatures flying) he kills Zor-EI. Before his death Zor-El successfully manages to launch a spacecraft carrying their newborn son to a similar planet- Our Earth.

And then begins the story of how baby Kal-El becomes Clark Kent and then SUPERMAN.  Henry Cevill playing the lead emerges for the first time in screen bare body all drenched up in flames (this scene warns about the raw power and brutal action the audience will witness later in the film!)

The film intelligently throws light on the conflict inside the all-powerful Clark Kent (the child, the adult) { a distinct Christofer Nolan signature evident in Batman series too} who believes in his father’s word (played very well by Kevin Costner) on hiding his powers till the right time comes.

Well the right time comes when General Zod returns to earth searching him, Kent has to choose between humans and fellow Kryptonians and he discovers a Superman in himself and does what he is best at. Save the world!

There is one thing you seriously look up to in a superman film and that is action! And boy what stupendous action scenes! Really, a super human effort from VFX creators. The narrative is in bits and pieces directing everything to the climax which like a balloon offers you a huge volume of everything in action, hand to hand combat, buildings crunching, machines clanking and what not!

Henry Cavill as Super Man is too good (watch out for a single scene while wearing the cape where he smiles!) he has worked out a perfect body for the role.

All in all a perfect steel punch for the family this weekend….
